The harbour in Nysted is the heart of the town
Life pulsates from here and you find yourself right in the centre of both the town and nature. Nysted harbour stands at the head of Nysted Cove, with a superb view out across to the Femem Strait and the offshore wind turbines at Rødsand, as well as the beautiful old market town and Ålholm Castle.
In Nysted you feel the presence of history in the beautiful old and well-preserved houses and as you leave the town it is with a renewed sense of energy. Cycling is a great way to get around when sightseeing as the area is laid out for it. The harbour provides the framework for several arrangements throughout the course of the summer. Every Tuesday in July there is jazz at the harbour, and from 2-4 August, the Hajkutter Regatta is held as a part of the Hanse Sail Festival.
Nysted Sailing Club is idyllically situated looking out onto Nysted Cove and Ålholm Castle on one side and the beautiful old market town on the other side. Visit the Vindens Verden (the world of wind) exhibition where you can learn all about offshore wind turbines or have a go at minigolf. Guests of Nysted Sailing Club can avail of the club house, grill area etc.
